Mid-Columbia Child & Family Center, Inc. (MCCFC) is a private, nonprofit corporation in The Dalles, Oregon, overseen by a Board of Directors who reside in our primary service area of Wasco, Sherman and Hood River counties.  We were incorporated in December 1979 as a regional facility to provide education, treatment and assistance for children with emotional problems and their families.  Over the years our mission has expanded and we are now a community mental health resource facilitating emotional growth and social well being for children, families, couples and individuals of all ages.

Our facility, affectionately known as “The Center,” consists of a large, remodeled older home, an adjunct clinical facility used as a classroom and group treatment area, and an office and meeting building called “The Far Side.”  The Center is generally open to clients Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with arrangements available for after-hours appointments and activities.

At MCCFC we strive to be a well integrated part of our community’s health care network.  We contract with several local and state agencies to provide a range of services, including assessment and treatment of individuals with mental or emotional difficulties.  Our current service components include:

·         Intensive Day Treatment for emotionally disturbed children ages 3-16

·         Outpatient Services for all ages and family dynamics;

·         Consultation and Training Services for parents, teachers, child care facilities and community programs serving children and adolescents;

·         Teen Parent Nurturing Program for parents who gave birth as teenagers (services available until they turn 24 years old); and

·         Fiscal agent for the annual Mid-Columbia Symposium on Children.
